AutoService centres take up MINI challenge
XPart offers its network the opportunity to specialise in the service and repair of the popular supermini
XPart, operator of the AutoService centre network, is offering independent motor traders the opportunity to increase profits through specialist servicing of the new MINI. The car has proved phenomenally popular, selling nearly a million units from its launch in 2001 to the model’s revision in 2006. The opportunity to add MINI specialisation is being offered to all of XPart’s 240 AutoService centres in the UK, and selected independent motor traders who wish to join the network.
Don Lindsay, XPart’s service marketing manager, says of the opportunity: “Given the popularity of the car, demand for high-quality, value for money servicing amongst owners is strong. Many original warranties and optional ‘TLC’ aftersales care packages are expiring, and owners are increasingly looking for a franchise dealer servicing alternative.”
Joining the XPart AutoService centre network’s MINI module involves buying a ‘stock pack’ of 54 service parts from XPart, including 18 parts numbers such as filters, belts and other parts likely to need replacement during normal servicing. XPart aims to create a network of at least 60 MINI specialists nationwide.
The first generation of the new MINI sold almost a million units between 2001 and 2006, and the second-generation model is selling just as strongly. Ownership of the new model is enthusiastic, with club, magazine and online groups, helping to ensure strong residual values among an ownership who will contribute to a well-maintained vehicle parc, interested in quality servicing.
Further advantages come from XPart’s existing parts network, which enjoys overnight deliveries from Desford in Leicestershire, and allows same day delivery from over 100 regional parts wholesalers. This means increased turnover of serviced vehicles, and minimal inconvenience for customers.
